Kensington Art Supply This Fall

We’re excited about two upcoming workshops: an oil painting demo and a watercolour workshop where we will paint on some new mediums - Aquabord™ and Gessobord™. We also have a bevy of new products to tell you about and there are some great deals on clearance items. This time of year also brings us many art shows and sales and we are happy to be sponsors and supporters of many of them.

Oil Painting Lecture/Demo with Gamblin
Wednesday, October 13 6-8pm

Join Product Manager Scott Gellatly from Gamblin Artist’s Oil Colours for a ninety minute demo intended to give you a comprehensive overview of Gamblin oil painting materials. Topics include colour theory and colour mixing, creating a personalized palette of colours and characteristics of painting mediums. The cost is $5 and takes place on Wednesday, October 13th from 6:00-8:00 pm. Free Gamblin product and literature samples will be provided.

Watercolour on Board Workshop

October 16 & 17 9am-4pm

Join artist Peter Prest for a two day workshop entitled “Moving Deeper into the Landscape” where we will explore painting watercolours on Aquabord™ and Gessobord™. Day One will be studio based and Day Two with be Plein Air. This workshop is for artists who wish to create more vibrant and immediate watercolour paintings and push themselves to discover new approaches to this traditional medium. Bow Valley Calligraphy Guild Show & Sale

The annual Artisan’s Show & Sale will take place on Saturday, November 6 from 10am to 4pm at the Scandinavian Cultural Centre, 739 - 20th Avenue NW. Kensington Art Supply will be on hand with a sale table of calligraphy supplies and gift ideas. This is a great show with a variety of unique vendors.

Encausticbord and R&F Handmade Paints

Ampersand collaborated with R&F Handmade paints to create Encausticbord™ - the perfect surface for encaustic paints and the most archival and dimensionally stable panel available. Encaustic gesso is applied to this sealed panel to form a bright, smooth and velvety surface that is ready to use for encaustic painting and mixed media.
